As the world observes World Children’s Day, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem, a gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State, Nigeria, reaffirms his commitment to protecting and promoting the rights and well-being of children. He joins the global community in celebrating this significant day, which was first established in 1954 as Universal Children’s Day to promote international togetherness and awareness among children worldwide.

Dr. Kareem emphasizes the importance of upholding the fundamental rights of every child, ensuring they receive necessary support for normal development, both materially and spiritually. He identifies Key Rights of Every Child as:

  • Right to Basic Needs: Access to food, healthcare, and education
  • Right to Protection: Shielding from exploitation, abuse, and harm
  • Right to Development: Equipping children to earn a livelihood and reach their full potential
  • Right to Social Responsibility: Teaching children to utilize their talents for societal betterment

As governor, Dr. Kareem vows to prioritize these rights, providing quality education, healthcare, and protection from exploitation to ensure every child in Oyo State thrives. “A child’s smile is the beacon of hope for a brighter future,” he says. “As leaders, we must support our children with unwavering strength, empowering them to become the better Nigerian we all desire.”
