Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church (IESC) Worldwide, has once again stirred the political waters with a bold prophecy about the future of Oyo State politics ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election.
In a video shared on his church’s official Facebook page, the outspoken cleric did not hold back in his criticism of Governor Seyi Makinde, warning that the governor’s alleged desperation to control who succeeds him will backfire and damage the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
“Seyi will be a disgrace to his party because he will waste the party’s energy, strength because he is desperate for power,” Primate Ayodele declared. He predicted that Makinde’s attempt to anoint a preferred candidate would fail, as the people of Oyo State would reject any imposition at the polls.
The controversial cleric, known for his frequent prophecies on Nigerian politics, accused Makinde of putting personal interests ahead of the welfare of the people and his party’s stability.
He warned the PDP to avoid repeating what he described as past mistakes that could cost them dearly in the next election cycle.
Ayodele also advised the governor to focus on delivering good governance and fulfilling his promises rather than expending his remaining political capital on trying to maintain power behind the scenes.
