APC vs PDP: Clash Of Titans In Oyo By-Election As PDP Concludes Campaign • Makinde Confident Of Victory

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan North Federal Constituency has concluded its energetic ward-to-ward campaign ahead of the August 16, 2025 bye-election, with a grand finale marked by massive turnout, warm receptions, and resounding endorsements from residents across all wards.

The closing leg of the campaign witnessed the presence of top political heavyweights, including the Oyo State PDP Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke; Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon. Kazim Adeyinka Adeniyi Bibire; Member representing Ibarapa North/Central Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adepoju Adebayo (Ibarapa Kan); as well as other prominent party leaders and government officials.

The ward-to-ward mobilisation, which commenced in Wards 1 (Labiran) and 2(Ode Oolo), successfully toured the remaining ten wards: Ward 3 (Oke Aremo), Ward 4 (Idi Omo), Ward 5 (Akingbola), Ward 6 (Sabo), Ward 7 (Oke Itunu), Ward 8 (Alaro), Ward 9 (Ago Tapa), Ward 10 (Obasa), Ward 11 (Samanda), and Ward 12 (Agbowo). At every stop, PDP’s flagbearer, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (Don), was greeted with overwhelming enthusiasm and strong assurances of electoral support.

Speaking at the various campaign venues, the Director-General of the campaign and Chairman of Oyo State Housing Corporation, Hon. Demola Omoto, alongside the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade; Campaign Secretary, Hon. Adebowale Falana; House of Assembly members, Hon. Olufunke Comforter and Hon. Babajide Gabriel; Baba Ismaila ashipa, Oyo State PDP Youth Leader and Acting Publicity Secretary, Hon. Michael Ogunsina; Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Hon. Toyin Balogun; Ibadan North PDP Women Leader and Special Assistant to Governor Makinde, Hon. Julian Nwachuku; 3SC chairman, Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami, Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on security coordination, hon. Kabiru Salami De-Bomba, Hon. Jubril Esho, former Rep aspirant, Hon. Matthew Alani Oyeniyi, Ibadan North PDP Chairman, Comrade Mustapha; Baba 50/50, Baba Agboluaje , Alhaji Muritala olasupo and other stakeholders, thanked residents for their loyalty to the PDP and urged them to come out en masse to vote for quality representation in the Green Chamber.

Oyo State PDP Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, emphasised that voting for Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle Don is a vote to sustain and appreciate the impactful governance of Governor Seyi Makinde.

He described the candidate as tested, trusted, and well-prepared, citing his previous service as a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly (Ibadan North Constituency 1) and as former Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor.

Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Kazim Adeyinka Adeniyi Bibire, urged residents to reject the opposition APC, which he accused of plunging the country into hardship through anti-people policies. He described Hon. Oyekunle Don as a vibrant, youth-driven leader ready to bring meaningful development to Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

In the same vein, Federal house of representative member representing Ibarapa North/Central Federal Constituency, Hon. Adepoju Adebayo Ibarapa Kan who was also part of the campaign noted that PDP representatives are known for lobbying and delivering tangible benefits to their constituencies, unlike the APC, which he criticised for engaging in frivolities.

He urged voters to support the PDP candidate, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle Don, in the forthcoming August 16 bye-election to bring dividends of democracy to the good people of Ibadan North federal Constituency and also increase the number of Oyo State PDP representatives in the Federal House of Representatives.

The reception from residents across all wards was overwhelmingly positive, with many pledging bloc votes for the PDP candidate.

In his address, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle Don expressed profound gratitude to the people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency for their trust and readiness to support him at the polls.

He pledged to deliver “nothing but meaningful and impactful representation” that will reflect the true dividends of democracy.

With the campaign trail now complete, the PDP enters the final stretch before the August 16 bye-election with confidence, unity, and an unmistakable message of people-focused governance.
