
Former commissioner for works and transport in Oyo state, Professor Abdul-Rahmon Raphael Afonja, also known as PARA, has extended warm birthday wishes to the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III.

In a statement on Saturday, Afonja praised the monarch’s outstanding leadership, citing his remarkable contributions to the growth and development of Ogbomosoland.

Under the Soun’s visionary guidance, Ogbomoso has witnessed significant progress, unity, and cultural preservation, he stated.
The former Commissioner however commended the monarch’s ability to balance modern governance with traditional values, earning him the admiration and loyalty of his subjects.

He described the Soun’s reign as exceptional, marking a new era of prosperity and progress for Ogbomosoland.

“The Soun is a true visionary, dedicated to the welfare and betterment of his people,” Afonja said, highlighting the monarch’s commitment to sustainable development and cultural preservation.
While urging the Soun to continue promoting cultural heritage, unity and enhance economy of the town, Afonja prayed for his peaceful reign.
“I join the Oyo State Government, Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, Ogbomoso Kingdom and the family of the Soun of Ogbomoso in celebrating the long life and remarkable achievements of our revered royal father.
“Looking into the pedigree of His Royal Highness from birth, his success in business, humanitarian services and ascension to the throne, I believe that the steps of the Kabiyesi were ordered from above to bring succour to his people and serve humanity in general.
“Oba Ghandi deserved commendation for his passion for peaceful co-existence, education and entrepreneurship.
“It is my prayer that the Almighty God would grant the royal father more strength and long life”, the statement read.
