…Adelabu in Diaspora Group Backs Unity Drive, Expresses Confidence in Oyo APC’s Return to Winning Ways
In his relentless effort to deliver on his mandate to provide a sustainable electricity supply to Nigerians, the Honourable Minister of Power and prominent APC chieftain in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has presented a bold vision for Nigeria’s energy transformation at the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) in Japan, earning global recognition and opening new doors for international cooperation in the power sector.
At the high-level audience before African leaders, Japanese government officials, international investors, and multilateral development agencies, Chief Adelabu joined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in sealing multi-million-dollar power agreements with leading Japanese companies like Toshiba and Hitachi.
These deals will expand Nigeria’s electricity grid, introduce new substations to boost supply, and implement renewable energy projects that will benefit communities across the country.
Chief Adelabu said “Our goal is clear: to make Nigeria the powerhouse of Africa in clean, stable, and inclusive energy,”
“With strategic international partnerships, robust investments, and the political will to reform, we are redefining what is possible in Nigeria’s power sector.”
But while securing global partnerships, Adelabu is also speaking directly to his people in Oyo State, extending a hand of reconciliation to party members and stakeholders across the state.
In a statement, Chief Adelabu urged unity among progressives in Oyo State, calling for a renewed focus on shared values and grassroots engagement.
He said “Oyo State APC cannot afford division among those who share the vision of progressive governance. As we move forward, let’s come together in the spirit of dialogue, respect, and collective purpose,”.
As Nigeria positions herself globally in the energy space and Chief Adelabu makes effort to strengthens his political base at home, his dual role as a national policymaker and state power broker continues to shape the trajectory of both the country’s development and the future of Oyo politics.
Meanwhile, a group known as Adelabu In Diaspora Group, under the coordination of Mr. Bushie Ferrari and member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) based in United Kingdom, Mr. Bayo Animashaun has reaffirmed its support for the Minister in his national engagements and ongoing efforts to foster unity within the APC in Oyo State.
In a message directed to members of Oyo APC, the group called for patience, stressing that Chief Adelabu is committed to restoring peace and cohesion to the party in the state.
The statement noted that the APC in Oyo State has a long-standing positive history, with the people of the state still firmly believing in the party’s ideology and the quality of leaders it has produced over the years.
However, it emphasized that resilience and collective commitment from leaders are essential to reposition the party for success.
