44th Olubadan: Ex-Minister Jumoke Akinjide Seeks Maximum Backing For Oba Ladoja, Proposes ‘Brought And Bread’s Association

Ibadan, Oyo State – Former Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory, Jumoke Akinjide, has called on indigenes of Ibadan to extend maximum support to Olubadan designate, Oba Rasheed Ladoja, upon his ascension to the throne of the traditional institution. Akinjide made the appeal yesterday, Wednesday, September 17, 2025, during a courtesy visit to the Forty-fourth Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Sen) Abdulrashidi Adewolu Akanmu Ladoja at his Ondo Street residence in Ibadan.

During her visit, Akinjide suggested the establishment of a “brought and bread” association aimed at fostering smooth communication among indigenes to promote peace and development in Oyo State. She expressed her commitment to the growth of Oyo State and its people, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration in achieving progress. Akinjide’s call underscores the significance of traditional leadership in driving community development and social cohesion in Ibadan.

Also, the management of The Polytechnic Ibadan paid a courtesy visit to Olubadan designate, Oba Rasheed Ladoja, at his residence. Chairman of the institution’s council, Olarenwaju Nasa, spoke highly of the Olubadan’s attributes, highlighting his discipline, transparency, and profound respect for Yoruba culture. Nasa expressed pride in Oba Ladoja’s selection, praying that his reign would usher in prosperity and productivity for Oyo State.

Responding to the visits, Oba Rasheed Ladoja expressed gratitude for the recognition and support. While noting that his selection as the next Olubadan brings him joy, he acknowledged the attendant burden of expectations. Ladoja appealed to all stakeholders to support him in his new role, stressing that Ibadan is a prominent state with notable personalities both locally and internationally.
