OLUBADAN: Despite Being Distracted, Tinubu Is Focused — Says Oba Ladoja As Monarch Receives AGF, Lateef Fagbemi

Speaking with pressmen after the meeting, asking about the significance of having a monarch with the status of a businessman, a former senator, a legislator, a former governor, and an employee of the executive branch. Fagbemi said, “Let me begin by congratulating the people of Ibadan, including myself. It’s no secret that experience cannot be bought, and having someone with such an impressive track record in business, politics, and social development is truly remarkable. This monarch brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the throne, and I believe Ibadan is poised for significant progress under his leadership. Congratulations once again.”

When asked about his role in supporting the Olubadan’s initiatives, bearing in mind his role in pushing for local government autonomy, Fagbemi stated, “As an Ibadan indigene and a strong advocate for the grassroots development, I am committed to supporting initiatives that drive progress in our district. One of my key responsibilities is to ensure that policies and resources from the center are effectively utilized at the local level. Given my role in pushing for local government autonomy, which was one of the reasons I took the matter to the Supreme Court, I understand the importance of empowering traditional institutions and local governments to work together for the betterment of our communities.

In collaboration with the Olubadan’s office, I am eager to contribute to initiatives that will enhance the lives of our people. The President’s focus on grassroots development aligns with my own objectives, and I am confident that together, we can achieve meaningful progress. Traditional rulers play a crucial role in maintaining peace and stability, especially during times of crisis, and it is essential that we work closely with them to drive development.”

The Olubadan designate, Oba Rasheed Ladoja, described Fagbemi as an unbiased lawmaker, expressing his joy on seeing the lawmaker and encouraging him to always remember his source.
