The Department of State Services (DSS) has alerted the public to the activities of a dismissed staff member, Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, who is allegedly using the name of the Service to deceive and defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.
In a public disclaimer posted on the Service’s official X (formerly Twitter) page, the DSS warned that Godwin has been engaging in unscrupulous acts under false pretences of representing the agency.
The DSS urged citizens to exercise caution and avoid any dealings with Godwin or anyone claiming affiliation with the Service without proper verification.
The statement read, “The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby alerts members of the public of the activities of one Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, a dismissed staff. He is reportedly engaging in unscrupulous activities, including using the name of the Service to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
“Members of the public are therefore advised to desist from any dealings with him.”
