Abuja – In a bold show of support, Mogaji Abass Oloko, a prominent and respected traditional leader in Ibadan, has rallied behind Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Chairman, Hon. Zacch Adedeji, as a group of contractors and a youth movement call for his removal.
The group, comprising the “All Indigenous Contractors Association of Nigerian” and the Arewa Consultative Youth Movement, had petitioned the Nigeria President, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alleging Zacch Adedeji’s involvement in “unconstitutional activities” and failure to facilitate payments to local contractors. However, Mogaji Abass Oloko dismisses these claims as unfounded and politically motivated.
In a statement, Mogaji Abass Oloko describes Zacch Adedeji, a proud son of Oyo State, as a dedicated public servant committed to President Tinubu’s success and Nigeria’s progress. “Zacch Adedeji is a true patriot, steering the FIRS with vision and integrity,” Oloko asserts.
Mogaji Abass Oloko questions the credibility of the groups calling for Adedeji’s sack, echoing former Minister Femi Fani-Kayode’s sentiments that they represent narrow interests. “Their claims are baseless, aimed at undermining the administration’s tax reforms,” he says.
Under Zacch Adedeji’s leadership, FIRS has driven landmark policy changes, reshaping revenue administration. “These reforms rank among President Tinubu’s greatest achievements,” Mogaji Oloko notes, urging stakeholders to support Adedeji’s efforts.
The FIRS chairman’s focus on efficient revenue collection will bolster Nigeria’s economic growth, Mogaji Oloko emphasizes. “Zacch Adedeji’s removal would undermine the administration’s progress and demoralize public servants,” he warns.
Mogaji Abass Oloko calls on Nigerians to rally behind Adedeji, recognizing his contributions to the nation’s development. “A true son of Nigeria, Zacch Adedeji deserves our backing, not unwarranted attacks,” he says.
As tensions rise, Mogaji Oloko’s support underscores Zacch Adedeji’s commitment to public service. “Stones are thrown at trees bearing good fruit; Adedeji’s work speaks for itself,” he concludes, urging President Tinubu to maintain confidence in his FIRS chairman.
