A national leader of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), Comrade Adesina Akinpelu, has urged wealthy Ibadan sons and daughters to emulate the community service and philanthropic gestures of Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, the Chief Executive Officer of Ilaji Hotels and Resorts.

Comrade Akinpelu made this call in his congratulatory message to the Ilaji boss on his official installation as Okanlomo Oodua on Friday at the House of Oduduwa, Oonirisa Palace, Ile-Ife.

The OPC National Leader noted that the presence of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, and the entire Olubadan-in-Council and other revered Royal Fathers at the occasion was in recognition of Chief Sanusi’s immense contribution to the development of Ibadan in the last few years.

Akinpelu explained that the event was conducted with full traditional rites and cultural splendor, adding that the presence of many dignitaries from Ibadan added to the glamour, pomp, and pageantry during the installation ceremony performed by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.

“It is uncommon to see a traditional ruler in Yorubaland following one of his subjects to receive a chieftaincy title in another town. Not only did Oba Ladoja and the Olubadan-in-Council members present at Chief Sanusi’s installation, majority of Ibadan Chiefs and Mogajis were also present at the event to show their love and support to the Ilaji boss.

“Chief Dotun Sanusi is enjoying the goodwill of Ibadan Indigenes because of his love and commitment to the development of Ibadanland. I am using this medium to urge other wealthy Ibadan sons and daughters to emulate Chief Sanusi,” the OPC leader said.

Comrade Akinpelu added that the presence of Araba Oluisese of Ibadanland, High Chief Ifalere Odegbola, and his people at the Ooni’s palace for the installation underscored the relationship between Chief Sanusi and the traditional religious institution.

The OPC leader also commended members of the Ibadan Compound Security Initiative Forum (Ibadan Volunteer), under the leadership of Comrade Akeem Onaolapo (Oja) for their presence at the installation ceremony.

Akinpelu commended the newly installed Okanlomo Oodua for his efforts to ensure unity and progress of Ibadanland, expressing confidence that with his new title, Sanusi would extend his progressive programs, cultural preservation, and youth empowerment across Yorubaland.

Akinpelu maintained that Chief Sanusi’s new chieftaincy title is a call to serve Yorubaland with renewed dedication, strength, and vision.
