Hon. Aderemi Abas Oseni, the Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and member representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, paid tribute to the former Governor of Oyo State, late Senator Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi on his 76th posthumous birthday. Oseni attended the 8th Annual Senator Abiola Ajimobi Roundtable and lecture, organized by the Senator Abiola Ajimobi Foundation (SAAF) in collaboration with the Institute for Peace and Strategic Studies, University of Ibadan.
The event was a fitting platform for reflection on Ajimobi’s life, marked by service, courage, and purposeful leadership. Oseni noted that Ajimobi was more than a former Governor of Oyo State; he was a trailblazer who etched his name in history as the first governor to serve two consecutive terms, a testament to the confidence reposed in his leadership.

Gov. Abiola Ajimobi’s tenure was characterized by bold decisions, driven by a clear vision for infrastructural development, urban renewal, and long-term progress. His private sector background brought discipline, strategic thinking, and efficiency to governance. Today, many roads, public facilities, and institutional reforms stand as enduring symbols of his vision and commitment to development.
Hon. Aderemi Abass Oseni emphasized that Ajimobi’s life reminds us that true leadership is measured by impact, not convenience, and by service, not sentiment. The roundtable and lecture served as a call to reflection and responsibility for public office holders, urging them to draw lessons from the past, uphold integrity, and remain committed to people-centered governance.
Gov. Ajimobi’s legacy endures, and his contributions to Oyo State’s development will not be forgotten. His works speak loudly, and his commitment to service remains an inspiration. As Oseni tweeted, “May his soul continue to rest in perfect peace”.

Ajimobi’s impact on Oyo State is still felt, with many roads, public facilities, and institutional reforms standing as testaments to his vision. His leadership style, anchored on vision, service, and responsibility, continues to inspire leaders and young people across political and professional divides.
