POLITICS: Makinde Meets Former LG Leaders, Gets Unwavering Support For Development Plans

Ibadan, Oyo State – A delegation of former Local Government Chairmen and Vice Chairmen in Oyo State has reiterated their unwavering loyalty and commitment to the vision and agenda of the executive Governor of Oyo State, H.E Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde FNSE, aimed at repositioning the state for sustainable development, economic prosperity, and the overall well-being of all citizens.

The meeting, which took place at the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA) Complex, Fashola, Oyo Town, was a purposeful and strategic engagement anchored on shared party ideology, loyalty, unity, and collective responsibility towards the consolidation of good governance and democratic stability in Oyo State.

During the one-hour-and-nineteen-minute meeting, the former Local Government Chairmen and Vice Chairmen unanimously reaffirmed their support for Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, acknowledging the strides made so far in promoting inclusive governance and democratic values.

In his response, Gov. Seyi Makinde reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, acknowledging the strategic role of former Local Government Chairmen as experienced stakeholders in deepening democratic values and effective governance at the grassroots level.

He further assured them of continuous and wider engagement, noting that such interactions would help unveil and address existing realities and developmental needs across their respective Local Government Areas.

The meeting was facilitated by the Personal Assistant to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Akeem Azeez, and was attended by notable party leaders and government officials, including Chief Bayo Lawal and Hon. Adeniyi Adebisi, Honourable Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives.

Former Local Government Chairmen present included Hon. Saheed Arowosaye (Oyo East), Hon. Settle Olaide Popoola (Oluyole), Hon. Gbadamosi Kazeem (Lagelu), Hon. Gbenga Obalowo (Ibarapa East), and Hon. Akanji Kabeer (Ogbomosho North), Hon. Lateef Adediran SANTANA(Irepo), Hon. Adedoyin Adeoye(Ibarapa Central), and Hon. Sunday Akindele(Afijio)

Vice Chairmen in attendance included Hon. Raheem Ajibola (Iseyin), Hon. Fasasi Fatai (Kajola), Hon. Azeez Jimoh (Itesiwaju), Hon. Oguntona Seun (Atiba), and Hon. Abiona Oyebamiji (Afijio), Hon. Adegbenro Samuel(Ibarapa North), Hon. Saka Abiona(Ido), Hon. Ayoade Olatunde(Oluyole), Hon. Funso Kayode(Akinyele), Hon. Biodun Badmos(Lagelu), Hon. Ayandeyi Ayantunde(Olorunsogo), Hon. Isaac Olajide(Ogbomoso South), Hon. Wahab Kareem(Oriire), Hon. Sunday Johnson Busayo(Irepodun), Hon. Gbadamosi Maruf(Surulere), Hon. Olasunmi Zynab(Ibarapa Central), and Hon. Owolabi Mudasiru(Saki West)
