The All Progressives Congress (APC) has for the second time extended the deadline for electronic membership registration from January 31, 2026, to February 8, 2026. This decision was taken at the party’s 183rd National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held on January 30, 2026, in Abuja.
In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party explained that the extension was granted following requests from party stakeholders who wanted more time to register and validate their membership. This move is seen as a demonstration of the party’s commitment to inclusivity and its desire to ensure that all supporters are registered and able to participate in the party’s activities.
The APC also announced changes to its congresses and national convention schedule. Ward Congresses will now hold on February 18, 2026, while the National Convention is slated for March 27-28, 2026. However, Osun State, Ekiti State, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are excluded from the scheduled congresses due to upcoming elections, while Rivers State is excluded due to the subsisting tenure of the current executive committees of the party in the state.
The party has constituted a National Convention Planning Committee, and further details on the adjusted congress and national convention timetable and schedule of activities, as well as the composition of the committee, will be announced in due course.
