The streets of Ibadan came alive with color and music as the Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government and Chairman of the Assassination of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) Oyo State chapter, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele LAJUE, led a vibrant carnival procession to commemorate Oyo State’s 50th anniversary. The event showcased the rich heritage, diversity, and resilience of Oyo State, solidifying its reputation as the true Pacesetter.
The carnival parade, which featured Egbeda Local Government, highlighted the local government’s commitment to progress and development, aligning with the vision of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration. Under Makinde’s purposeful leadership, Oyo State continues to set benchmarks in governance, development, and inclusivity.
Hon. As Oyo State celebrates its golden jubilee, the government has reaffirmed its commitment to securing a better future built on strong institutions, sustainable growth, empowered young people, inclusive development, and lasting stability. The state government has also unveiled a week-long programme of activities to commemorate the milestone.
The celebrations are expected to culminate on February 3, with a grand dinner night, where distinguished citizens and individuals who have contributed significantly to the development of the state will be honored.
