The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ona-Ara Local Government, under the chairmanship of Alfa Kehinde Adeyemo, has firmly debunked claims by an Egbeda-based aspirant that PDP stakeholders in Ona-Ara have endorsed his ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party described the claim as false, misleading, and a deliberate attempt to misinform the public, stressing that no individual from Egbeda Local Government has received the endorsement or backing of PDP leaders in Ona-Ara to contest for the Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency seat.

Speaking on behalf of party stakeholders, the leadership reiterated their long-standing position, popularly known as “Ona-Ara Lokan”, noting that after nearly 20 years of Egbeda’s dominance in the federal representation, fairness, equity, and justice demand that Ona-Ara produces the next member of the House of Representatives.
“How can we support someone from Egbeda Local Government after close to two decades of dominance in the representation? Our position is clear and unanimous—it is Ona-Ara’s turn to produce the Federal Representative,” the leaders stated.

The PDP leadership further disclosed that available findings indicate that the said aspirant, Mr. Tosin Alabi, is not even a bona fide member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Egbeda Local Government, thereby raising serious questions about the credibility of his claims.
The party also issued a strong caution to online publishers, bloggers, and social media platforms, urging them to always verify political information from credible party sources before dissemination. The leadership warned that the spread of unverified reports is capable of misleading the public and unnecessarily heating up the political atmosphere.
“We call on media practitioners to uphold professionalism, balance, and accuracy in their reportage, particularly on sensitive political issues, in the interest of peace and democratic stability,” the statement added.
The PDP Ona-Ara leadership urged party members and the general public to remain calm, assuring that consultations and stakeholder engagements are ongoing within the party.
“Our position remains unchanged. Come 2027, Ona-Ara must and will produce the Federal Representative,” the statement concluded.
