As the Oyo State APC Governorship Hopeful, Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK), I extend my warm greetings to Muslim faithful observing Ramadan and to Christians marking the Lenten season. Both periods are sacred seasons of repentance, sacrifice, and renewed commitment to righteous living.
Ramadan offers a profound opportunity to seek forgiveness of sins, increase acts of charity, support the needy, and pray for the peace and progress of Oyo State and Nigeria. In the same spirit, I encourage my Christian brothers and sisters to use the Lenten season for reflection, self-discipline, prayer, and compassion for others.
I urge all citizens, regardless of faith, to use this solemn season to pray for the emergence of visionary, selfless, and competent leaders in the 2027 elections. Leadership transformation must go hand in hand with responsible followership.
During this spiritually significant period, I reaffirm my unwavering commitment to the development of Oyo State and Nigeria. My resolve to deliver purposeful governance anchored on integrity, transparency, and measurable progress remains strong.
I must emphasize that nation-building is a shared responsibility. It is not always about blaming politicians. We, as citizens, must take ownership of the consequences of our actions by staying informed, participating actively in governance, and acting responsibly at all times.
I also strongly appeal to voters to reject vote-buying and political inducements. We must move away from accepting bribes or money in exchange for our votes. When we sell our votes, we mortgage our future and weaken our democracy. Let us vote for credible and competent candidates based on character, capacity, and clear development agendas.
For Nigeria to attain standards comparable to developed nations like Australia, both leadership and followership must improve. Our leadership must change and improve, but citizens must also demonstrate responsibility by voting wisely and advocating for candidates who can genuinely transform our society.

An informed electorate is the foundation of a thriving democracy.
