Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has presented electric vehicles to over 100 beneficiaries, professionally trained across the district, in a landmark empowerment initiative.
According to a statement from her media office, the beneficiaries, selected from the five local government areas of Kogi Central, underwent intensive technical and operational training facilitated by professional engineers from the Electric Motor Vehicle Company (EMVC).

The statement further indicated that the project, fully sponsored by the senator, is aimed at equipping participants with the skills required to safely operate, manage, and maintain electric vehicles.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, the senator highlighted the global transition toward clean energy and sustainable transportation, describing electric vehicles as the future of mobility.

“The world is moving toward cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions. Electric vehicles are not just cars; they represent a broader vision to protect our environment, reduce fuel dependency, and create new economic opportunities for our people,” she said.
She noted that the initiative aligns with her broader commitment to empowerment, innovation, and economic advancement across Kogi Central.
“This programme goes beyond handing over vehicles. It is about creating sustainable livelihoods, strengthening local capacity, and positioning our youths and entrepreneurs to participate in the evolving technological revolution. I am particularly proud that the beneficiaries were comprehensively trained by professionals to ensure competence and safety,” she added.
The senator urged the beneficiaries to prioritise discipline and road safety.
“Drive carefully and responsibly. Your lives are precious, as are the lives of other road users. Avoid speeding, obey traffic regulations, and ensure regular maintenance of these vehicles. Empowerment must go hand in hand with discipline,” she advised.
Encouraging a community-focused mindset, she reminded the recipients to use the opportunity to uplift others.
“Let this not be seen solely as a personal benefit. Use these vehicles to support your families, serve your communities, and inspire others. May your success stories resonate across the five local government areas.”
In an emotional moment, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan offered prayers for the beneficiaries and the people of Kogi Central, asking for protection, prosperity, and continued progress for the district.
Observers described the initiative as a forward-thinking intervention that effectively blends environmental sustainability with economic empowerment. The distribution of electric vehicles marks another milestone in the senator’s constituency development agenda, reinforcing her emphasis on innovation-driven empowerment and responsible leadership in Kogi Central.
