

In a grand ceremony held at the Deji’s Palace in Akure on Friday, July 18, 2025, Governor Seyi Makinde and his wife, Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde was conferred with the revered chieftaincy titles of Aare Omoluabi and Yeye Aare Omoluabi of Akure Kingdom, respectively. The titles, bestowed by the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, are a testament to the First Family’s exemplary leadership, character, and unwavering service to the people of Oyo State and beyond.

Hon. Matthew Alani Oyeniyi, a former Federal House of Representatives aspirant and respected grassroots mobilizer in Ibadan North Local Government, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Makindes on this momentous occasion. In a personal statement, Oyeniyi hailed the honour as a profound endorsement of the couple’s leadership style, noting that Governor Makinde has continuously exemplified the virtues of an Omoluabi, a leader who is honourable, selfless, and accountable to his people.

The former Ward 12 Councilor emphasized that the governor’s inclusive governance style and enduring commitment to human capital development have repositioned Oyo State as a beacon of progress in Nigeria. “His Excellency, Governor Makinde, has shown remarkable leadership, and this recognition is a testament to his dedication to the people of Oyo State,” Oyeniyi stated.
