At last, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was forced to address Nigerians on the genocide against Christians in Nigeria. Thanks to President Donald Trump who boxed Tinubu into a corner with the threat of invasion. It is shameful, disgusting, and disgraceful that it took a foreign leader to arouse the Nigerian leader from his lethargic stupor before he could take action to fulfill his primary obligation to Nigerians by securing life and property of his citizens.
It is not enough for Tinubu to address Nigerians. He should back up his address with immediate action by wiping Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen terrorists out of the face of the earth.
Why must Tinubu follow up his address to Nigerians with action against the terrorists? It is critical for him to snuff out the terrorists for several critical reasons:

It is Tinubu’s responsibility to fulfill his primary duty of national security, maintaining public order and confidence. He should used the uniqueness of his position as president to employ all elements of national power against terrorists’ killings and threats.
He should put on trial all Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen terrorists supporters, sympathizers, financiers in his government or in any other high profile positions, and those who profited from the budget for national security.
It is within his core presidential responsibilities primary duty to protect citizens. It is the president’s highest priority and fundamental commitment of the federal government to keep Nigerians safe from harm. This mandate includes preventing attacks, protecting lives and property, and ensuring the safety of all residents within Nigeria.
As president, Tinubu is vested with constitutional authority as Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces and the chief executive. This grants him the inherent power to use military force, law enforcement, and intelligence capabilities to respond to threats to our national security whether from foreign or domestic enemies.
Terrorist attacks go beyond attacks on the immediate victims. They are attacks on our democratic society and the rule of law. Terrorist attacks aimed at driving us apart and destabilizing the government. A presidential action against the terrorists is necessary for Tinubu to assert his administration’s legitimacy and commitment to peace, progress, and prosperity.
Tinubu must deny the terrorists safe havens and support. He must have a comprehensive strategy to disrupt their networks, funding sources, and ability to operate within Nigeria. More importantly,Tinubu must resolve to bomb the terrorists out of existence – today!
