Ibadan, Oyo State – The Renascent High School Aremo Agugu Ibadan Old Students’ Association has launched a desperate appeal to the Oyo State government, led by His Excellency, Engr. Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, to intervene and rescue their alma mater from further decay. The association’s national body recently toured the school premises and was shocked by the deplorable state of the classrooms, surroundings, and hall.

The association’s general president, Pa Oladimeji Omoniyi, expressed the urgency of the situation, stating, “We are appealing to the Oyo State government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, to please, for the love of God, come to our aid. The situation is critical, and we need immediate action to prevent further deterioration.”
The association is calling on the government to provide funds for infrastructure repair, renovation, and upgrade of facilities to create a conducive learning environment for students. “We are not asking for much, just a little support to save our school. We believe His Excellency, Governor Makinde, will hear our cry and respond positively,” Pa Omoniyi added.

The association’s efforts aim to galvanize support for the school, following in the footsteps of other old students’ associations that have successfully contributed to their alma maters’ development. The school’s history and legacy are at stake, and the association is counting on the government’s support to restore Renascent High School to its former glory.
The association’s appeal is a call to action for all stakeholders, including philanthropists and well-meaning individuals, to join hands and support the school’s revival. Together, we can make a difference and give Renascent High School the future it deserves.

The plea has sparked concern among education stakeholders in Oyo State, with many calling on the government to take immediate action to address the deplorable state of the school.
As the Oyo State government, led by His Excellency, Engr. Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, prepares to present its 2026 budget proposal to the House of Assembly, the Renascent High School Old Students’ Association is hopeful that the government will prioritize education and allocate funds to support the school’s rehabilitation.
