As Nigerians celebrate Christmas, Hon. Aderemi Oseni, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and member representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, has called on citizens to embrace hope, compassion, and unity as the nation works towards recovery and renewal.
In a Christmas message released on Thursday by his Media Aide, Idowu Ayodele, Oseni said the festive season is a time for deep reflection on the values of sacrifice, love, and selflessness, which he described as essential to national stability and sustainable development.
The lawmaker acknowledged that the outgoing year tested the resilience of Nigerians amid security challenges. However, he noted that Christmas offers a renewed sense of optimism and purpose despite the difficulties.
“Christmas teaches us that hope is never lost, even in the most challenging times. As a nation, we must believe in our shared future, promote unity across ethnic and religious lines, and support one another with compassion,” Oseni said.
He urged leaders at all levels to use the festive period as a moment of introspection, recommitting to responsible leadership, transparency, and people-centred governance.
According to him, sustainable national development can only be achieved when public office holders prioritise policies that directly impact the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.
The APC chieftain also appealed to citizens to shun violence, intolerance, and divisive tendencies, noting that peace and national cohesion remain critical to economic recovery and social harmony. He urged Nigerians to remember the less privileged during the festive season.
Extending Christmas greetings to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora, Oseni reassured his constituents in Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency of his unwavering commitment to effective representation, quality legislation, and infrastructural development.
