Hon. Tpl. Dr. Adesokan Samuel Adelodun is a distinguished individual and a proud aspirant for the Oyo State House of Assembly, Ibarapa East Constituency, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). As a strong and loyal member of the party, he has consistently demonstrated a passion for public service, grassroots development, and community empowerment. Hailing from the Adesokan family of Isale Togun, Lanlate, Ibarapa East Local Government of Oyo State, Dr. Adelodun descends from the Royal Abiodun Alaafin lineage of the ancient Oyo Empire, born to Chief Adegbaye Adesokan and Mrs. Ibiyosi Adesokan.
Dr. Adelodun’s academic journey is impressive, with early education at Methodist Primary School, Lanlate, and Lanlate High School. He furthered his education at Oyo State School of Science, Idere, and Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, where he obtained his National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning from Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, and a Bachelor of Science in Urban & Regional Planning from Lead City University, Ibadan. Additionally, he holds a Master’s Degree in Managerial Psychology from the University of Ibadan and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons) from the International University Bamenda, Cameroon.
As a Registered Town Planner, Dr. Adelodun has worked with First Bank of Nigeria Plc and Bayo Ojertunde & Partners, showcasing his expertise in urban planning and development. He is the Founder and CEO of Prince S.A. Adesokan Real Estate Planning Consultants & Associates and Rock-Adesh Infrastructural & Properties Limited.
Dr. Adelodun’s commitment to community development is evident in his founding of Sam Adesokan Initiatives and Helpers Foundation, a non-governmental organization focused on humanitarian support and youth empowerment. He has received numerous awards, including an Honorary Doctorate (DBA) in Leadership and Strategic Management from Maverick Business Academy, London, UK.
A seasoned politician, Dr. Adelodun has demonstrated his commitment to public service, stepping down in the interest of party unity in 2019 and 2022. He served as Assistant Secretary (INEC & Documentation) for the APC Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council in Oyo State during the 2023 election.
Dr. Adelodun is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Nigerian Institute of Management, and Fellow of the Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators of Nigeria. He has also been inducted as an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators (NICArb).
Throughout his career, Dr. Adelodun has demonstrated a passion for public service, grassroots development, and community empowerment. His vision for Ibarapa East Constituency focuses on education, healthcare, and economic development.
Dr. Adelodun’s leadership roles include Vice Chairman and Public Relations Secretary of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP), Oyo State Chapter. He has also distributed palliatives to students in his constituency and visited health centers to show support for healthcare workers.
In 2021, Dr. Adelodun made the Prominent People’s Award list, recognizing his contributions to community development and professional excellence. He has also received a Leadership Award from the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the Nigerian Law School, Dr. Nabo Graham Douglas Campus, Rumueme, Port Harcourt.
Dr. Adelodun is happily married and blessed with wonderful children. His dedication to community service and professional excellence makes him an ideal candidate for the Oyo State House of Assembly, Ibarapa East Constituency.
