Oyo State APC governorship hopeful, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK), has paid a courtesy visit to the Eleruwa of Eruwa, as part of his ongoing statewide consultations with traditional institutions, reaffirming his deep respect for culture, experience, and people-centred leadership.
During the visit, Dr. Kareem formally presented his book, Our Realistic Tomorrow, a comprehensive leadership and development blueprint that captures his vision for a more progressive, fair, and opportunity-driven Oyo State. According to him, the book reflects lessons drawn from governance and leadership experiences within Oyo State, across Nigeria, and internationally.

AKK, who is a School Leader working with the New South Wales Department of Education in Australia, explained that his exposure to structured governance systems, inclusive public policies, and accountability-driven leadership abroad has further strengthened his conviction that Oyo State can achieve sustainable growth through purposeful leadership, strategic planning, and people-focused governance.
Speaking at the palace, Dr. Kareem emphasized the importance of humility, reflection, and continuous learning in leadership, stating that “to learn from experience is not an admission of failure, but an addition to wisdom.” He noted that societies progress when leaders are willing to listen, learn, and improve upon past experiences for the collective good of the people.
Dr. Kareem also used the occasion to clearly declare his intention to run for the governorship of Oyo State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stressing that his aspiration is not driven by personal ambition but by a sincere desire to serve.
“I am running for the governorship of Oyo State not out of ambition for power,” AKK said, “but from a deep-seated conviction that Oyo State can be what we all believe it should be — a state of progress, fairness, and equal opportunities for all.”

He described traditional rulers as custodians of history, values, and grassroots realities, adding that any meaningful and sustainable development agenda must be anchored on respect for culture and continuous engagement with royal fathers who understand the needs and aspirations of their people.
In his response, the Eleruwa of Eruwa welcomed Dr. Kareem and commended the presentation of a well-articulated vision document, urging political leaders to always prioritize the welfare of the people, promote unity, and pursue peace and inclusiveness in their political engagements.
The visit further underscores AKK’s consultative leadership style and his commitment to building bridges across institutions and communities as he continues to engage stakeholders ahead of the 2027 governorship race in Oyo State.
