Ibadan, Oyo State – The Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA) has reaffirmed that the state is making significant strides towards economic prosperity through a deliberate and well-structured agribusiness revolution, thanks to the visionary leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde.
Dr. Debo Akande, the Executive Adviser to Governor Makinde on Agribusiness and International Cooperation, stated this in a recent interview, highlighting the remarkable transformation within the agricultural sector. According to Dr. Akande, the Makinde-led administration has moved agriculture from a subsistence practice to a modern, investment-driven ecosystem, positioning Oyo State as one of Nigeria’s leading agribusiness destinations.
“This transformation is a direct result of Governor Makinde’s unwavering commitment to repositioning agriculture as a viable engine of economic growth,” Dr. Akande emphasized. He noted that strategic initiatives such as infrastructure development in agribusiness hubs, investor-friendly policies, mechanization support, and strong partnerships with private sector players have significantly boosted productivity and created sustainable jobs for youths and rural communities.
Dr. Debo Akande stressed that the Makinde-led administration understands that true economic prosperity must be built on productivity. “By strengthening value chains, improving access to markets, and attracting both local and international investors, Oyo State is now positioned as one of Nigeria’s leading agribusiness destinations,” he said.
The Executive Adviser further declared that Oyo State is not just farming, but building a complete agribusiness ecosystem that guarantees wealth creation, food security, and inclusive economic growth. “Oyo is moving from potential to productivity, and ultimately, to prosperity,” he added.
Dr. Debo Akande concluded by affirming that the successes recorded so far are products of Governor Makinde’s clear vision to move Oyo from potential to productivity, and ultimately, to prosperity. He expressed confidence that the state will continue to make significant progress in the agribusiness sector, driven by the governor’s visionary leadership.
