Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has declared Tuesday, August 10 as work-free day to commemorate and celebrate the new Islamic calendar year 1st Muharram(Hijrah 1443 AH).
This was contained in a circular letter issued and signed by the secretary to the state government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun to all public office holders in pacesetter state.
Makinde enjoins all and sundry to use the occasion to pray for the peace, unity and sustainability of the state in particular, and the country in general.
However, Olubamiwo charges the relevant authorities to give His Excellency’s approval and widest circulation it deserves.
